SBPLI Welcomes New Board Members
Ray Donnelly, Carl Meshenberg and Jeffrey Stern have joined School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. (SBPLI) as its new board members.
Mr. Donnelly is a seasoned executive in international business with experience in over 20 countries throughout Europe and South America. He has also served as an official in local government, economic development and not-for-profit positions on Long Island. He brings to SBPLI a wealth of expertise that he gained with global companies such as Ericsson, Rockwell and Telephonics. His public sector record includes serving as Director of Economic Development for the Town of Brookhaven and deputy executive director of the Long Island Forum of Technology.
He is a graduate of St. Joseph's College and has completed executive education programs at New York University and the Institute of Directors in London. Mr. Donnelly has served on the board of the Suffolk Community College Foundation and is a former member of the American Chambers of Commerce in London and Dublin.
Mr. Meshenberg has been involved with the management of complex technical projects, both domestically and internationally, for more than 30 years. His positions have included Senior Vice President, Vice President and Director of Engineering, as well as many program management positions. He has also done technology consulting for Fortune 50 companies, as well as small startups.
He is also vice president of operations for an inspirational products company primarily specializing in women's casual clothing and giftware. In this position, he has been managing all the domestic and overseas procurement and contract negotiations, shipping arrangements, quality control, sample evaluation and design oversight.
Mr. Stern is a practicing attorney on Long Island for over 35 years. Currently a solo practitioner (after a 20-year partnership at Stern and Altimari), he has built a thriving law practice that includes real estate transactions on Long Island and New York City, business transactions, litigation and estate planning.
Three of his four children have participated in FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and have earned college degrees in engineering. He volunteers at many events and has judged for FIRST® LEGO League for over 10 years. He has also coached soccer, roller hockey and basketball for over 25 years. In addition, he volunteered at a local tutoring program and was a board member of the Jeffrey Mosenson Memorial Foundation.
